Our Weekend & Mother's Day 2014

I honestly had a wonderful Mother's Day thanks to Rich and Olivia. The morning started with brunch at a local favorite restaurant. Total Ma & Pa place that serves food from local farmers- my kind of place. Then we went home where I was told to go ahead and take a nap. Huhwhaaa?? I took a 3-HOUR-NAP you guys, 3 hours. Opened my Mom day card and was given a sewing machine and two pretty hanging flower baskets for the front porch.

We then picked up Rich's mom and headed to Fawn-Doe-Rosa, a farm an hour north of us where you can pet and feed animals that roam the farm. I added in the hour north part because Olivia screamed, the entire hour up north. We almost turned around roughly 6 times but we made it.

So this is how Snow White felt? A deer seriously walked up to me and ate right out of my hand. It was honestly one of the coolest things ever. There were probably 5 or 6 deer just roaming around the grounds and some would run off when you approached them but this one walked right up to me.

I know that was overload on animals but they were all too cute to not make the cut.

After the deer we headed to Stillwater for dinner on the water. It was such a perfect end to a great day. Are you queasy from cuteness yet? SorryNotSorry.

we held our annual golf tournament for our club. It was buckets of fun but I'm glad to have that task off my plate until next year. We ended up raising over $3,000 for our club that will go to charities and scholarships!

My younger brother bought his first apartment and his birthday is Tuesday so for his present I bought him a laundry basket full of new house essentials. I knew there would be many items he would need but as a 23 year old guy he wouldn't get around to buying them for himself so I did. Included is:

  • sponges
  • Spaghetti and sauce and colander for his first made-it-all-by-himself-dinner
  • measuring spoons
  • dish towels
  • pizza pan
  • plunger
  • windex
  • Clorox
  • laundry detergent
  • Tupperware
  • Kleenex
  • silverware separater thing that goes in the drawer, I'm sure it has a name...
  • trash bags
  • sandwich baggies
  • bottle opener
  • coasters
  • and more (I just can't remember right now)
