We Love Freshly Picked Moccasins!

I bought Olivia's first pair of FP moccs after much hesitation because of the price ($60 a pair). I have a hunch this is the reason a lot of moms haven't purchased a pair of these cute leather kicks for their kiddos yet as well which is totally understandable! I buy our clothing from Old Navy, Target, or outlet malls. I coupon and cartwheel and get overly excited about a good deal example here. I rarely, if ever, spend $60 on a pair of shoes for myself. I heard nothing but great things about Freshly Picked and when I heard their heirloom shoes, that I had been ogling for weeks, were back in stock I went for it. Since that first pair I've purchased another and plan on buying a few more because I love love love these shoes THAT much. Currently in my cart: ebony, platinum, gold, chrome, and raspberry because my husband says we need more color in our closets.

It truly says a lot about a company/product when you are willing to continually shell out money because the quality is so top notch. I'm going to get the numbers wrong but Susan, the CEO, said that after purchasing their first pair, over half the customers come back to buy 2 or more pairs. Don't quote me but you get the idea. Why on earth would folks keep buying something unless they and their kids truly loved the product?

I've discussed my love for FP here and here.

Heirloom, Blush and Aruba c /o Freshly Picked

Freshly Picked sent me Olivia a pair to review for all of you (Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!) and we chose Aruba. I hope I can convince those of you on the fence to take the plunge (Shark Tank reference, get it?) and treat your kids to these awesome moccs.

So when I bought my first pair I nearly jumped the mailman when he arrived after receiving an email that morning they were on their way. I neatly ripped open the box and was confused as to which shoe goes on which foot. It does appear you have two left shoes sometimes. After a little wear and tear it becomes more obvious which is left and which is right. To save my sanity for those times we're racing out the door I took a pen and wrote a tiny 'r' and 'l' on the inside "tongue" of the shoe. This is not only for me but for my husband who blank stares at the bottoms of the shoes for a few minutes before saying, "barefoot is cool".

My favorite part of these shoes is that Olivia cannot take the shoes off, nor does she even try to. Every other pair of shoes she owns she immediately yanks them off, tugs on them, kicks her leg awkwardly or  tumbles after a couple steps because they fit oddly or are too heavy for her little legs. Freshly Picked Moccasins are incredibly lightweight so she doesn't even realize she's wearing them. If Olivia doesn't look comfortable in something she's wearing, I never make her wear it. She's ripped itchy leggings and tight headbands off and every time I put these shoes on her she watches her feet smiling while toddling around the house.

I have yet to fully clean a pair of her shoes. Typically if there's some juice or oddities on the shoes I just give them a swipe with a baby wipe. Her heirlooms are a size 3 and her blush and aruba are in a size 4 which she isn't quite fitting in yet but will be soon so her heirlooms have the most wear and tear from playgrounds, the house, crawling, and being outdoors more now that summer is (finally!) here.

Scuffs like ^ these are going to happen when your baby is a crawler and drags their toes on the ground. Overall these shoes have withheld quite the beating from her. After a few months of almost daily wear there still aren't any rips, tears or snags in the shoes.

Every time she wears her moccs she gets compliments on them. They're a great conversation starter as well! "I heard about these on Shark Tank…."

Not only are they comfortable and stay on your baby's chubby feet, they look cute too. They come in a variety of colors and themes with the camouflage and Born in the USA being the two newest unique designs to debut. The design and variety of colors make these great for both boys and girls.

Sizing: Olivia will be 1 in a couple weeks and is in the size 3. To measure I printed out the PDF on their website found here and literally just put her foot to the paper to find her size. Her latest two pairs I ordered a size 4 so she can grow into them since the size 3's won't be fitting in another month or so.

What I admire about Susan and her company is her dedication to her brand and her drive to start her company. Her story here.  She sells exclusively on her website and her products cannot be found in Target, Walmart, Macy's, etc. She was able to become a huge success without the "help" of the large corporations. Each shoe is hand-made to perfection for your favorite little feet in the whole world.
