15 months

It's been awhile since I've done a monthly stats update for Olivia. Since this blog is mainly my journal/scrapbook I wanted to start keeping up on this again.

Our little girl is growing every single day and I really wish I could push 'pause' on life for a little bit. I know, that's very cliche to say but truly her growth both physically and in her personality is astounding even from 12 months to 15 months.

Side Bar: Pre-kids I didn't understand why parents answered "He's 16 months" when you'd ask how old their baby was.
Me in my head: He's 1…

Mom: He's 23 months
Me in my head: He's 2…

I get it now.

Stats: 24lbs 7oz.
2' 7.5"

Favorite Books: ABCs by Dr. Seuss, Brown Bear What Do You See, Time For Bed SleepyHead, and the Olivia books

Favorite Song: All About That Bass. After her shots today I had the song ready to go so that as soon as the nurse was done she could sit on my lap and listen to it. Immediately the tears stopped and she started dancing.

Favorite Food: Spaghetti & fruit snacks. I get her the Annie's Organic Bunny Fruit Snacks and she gobbles them up a little too fast.

Favorite Show: Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Daniel Tiger & Doc McStuffins

Sleeping: 9:30pm-7:30am approximately with 1-2 naps lasting about an hour to an hour and a half each

Says: Mama, Dada, Duck, Wow, Hi, Ni-Ni (bottle), "Say yooooo!" ('Thank You' in case you aren't fluent in Olivia)

Biggest Development: She's been going up stairs for quite a few months but she's now able to go down stairs totally unassisted. A few months ago when she first started doing it I would stand .5" behind her and hovering. Now we say "Get Down Safe!" and she safely backs down the stairs happily clapping when she reaches the bottom.
She can follow simple commands like, "Bring Mama the sippy cup" or "Lay down for a diaper change"
She'll show you where her belly button is - this kid's a genius!

The Tough Stuff: Holding still in a restaurant high chair or a grocery store cart. She's so busy and curious and doesn't want to hold still. She wants to go-go-go and touch/grab everything and examine it. It makes it tough when I'm trying to get through a quick one hour shopping trip.

Ch-Ch-Ch-Changes: We've thrown out and said goodbye to our Ni-Ni's (bottles) because it's time for this big girl to be strictly sippy cups. We were allowing her to have bottles and it's a bit of a tough transition but so far she's handling it well.

Proud Moment: The other day Olivia grabbed a clean diaper, her box of wipes, laid them on the floor and then laid down next to them and said "mama". Sure enough she needed a change!

15 months is so far the best age and I can't wait to see what 18 months has in store for us.
