Feliz La Dee Da

It's December! What? You didn't know? You must not have an Instagram full of Moms. Another cliché Mommy-Christmas-December-post? You guessed it!

To say I'm Christmas crazed is a slight understatement. I love all things Christmas. As soon as Halloween is over the pumpkins are thrown out (whatever is left that the neighborhood teenagers haven't smashed that is) and the wreaths get ruffled out of storage. Thanksgiving is great and all but I feel like it's just a bonus holiday to get you to Christmas faster. That sounds terrible, I know.
So far we've:

Made Peppermint Puppy Chow
10 oz. white chocolate (I used this)
5 or so crushed candy canes. I used the green, white and red for the added color
1 cup powdered sugar
4 cups Chex rice cereal
Heat the chocolate according to package, pour over the chex and carefully mix together.
Toss in crushed candy canes
Add ingredients to a large ziplock bag, add your powdered sugar and shake shake shake
I crushed my candy canes a little too much so the colors sort of vanished.
Hung our stockings and decorated our new mantle

Baked and decorated cookies
A sort-of Christmas tree, a snowflake and apparently a nightmare Gingerbread man

"On a scale of 1 to edible....."
They're a 1. Thank you for stroking my culinary ego.
I was making memories, not cookies.
We hung ornaments
Made a felt Christmas Tree
Festively painted our nails
I said festively, not successfully.
Watched some of our favorite Christmas movies

via ABC Family: Elf, Home Alone, Christmas Vacation, Frosty, I could go on and on. But won't, don't worry.
Wrapped presents- but only square ones
I was wrapping gifts all Sunday and quickly got tired of non-square items. I had two toys left that were not in a box and was in no mood to try to wrap them. I hate awkward shaped gifts. They're just not pretty and quite a B to try to wrap. I didn't want to track down empty boxes from the basement or garage so I said 'to hell with it' and gave Olivia the toys to have now. Terrible. I know.

Busted out Archie the Elf on the Shelf

But I have yet to move him anywhere but the top of the mantel. I'll get creative when she's old enough to care. I think he stayed on top of the counter by the coffee pot all of December 2013.
And visited the big guy!

Of course it's this year's Christmas card.
Sweater // Skirt // Shoes // Tights
Merry Christmas-Month everyone! From here on out every weekend of ours is filled with Christmas Parties, Ugly Sweater Parties, Cookie Exchanges, Kids Holiday Parties, Christmas Plays at the Children's Theatre and so much more. Can't wait!

  1. So much fun! I love your Christmas spirit! I also adore that ornament. Oh, and that Santa pic is priceless! Have a great day!

  2. You know I love that tree! (I'll eventually get around to posting ours - #pinterestfail). And love sweet Olivia with Santa. So funny! Every baby needs the crying picture.
