Five on Friday: Let's Flippin Party

In March of this year I took an enormous leap of faith and started my company, Let's Flippin Party, LLC. This is something I thought about doing since 2011 but the initial investment was always the only thing that held me back. This March Rich and I talked long and hard about it and decided it was now or never. We would take that risk and this would be my chance to be my own boss.

Ever since I was little I knew I wanted to be my own boss. Growing up I played house and dolls but my favorite, and what I most remember, is playing 'office'. I was the boss of course and made their schedules, gave the kids performance reviews, wrote their paychecks and called them into my office. I probably wasn't the most fun kid...

I started the company in March but our season started early this summer and started hard. If you've been reading for awhile you know that we spent most of our summer on the road this year and were overly busy. Unfortunately I put everything on the backburner until about two months ago. Since then I've been working hard getting everything out there.

Writing down goals.
Contacting wedding planners in the area.
Booking my first wedding show for March.
Booking my first gig for this Saturday! A children's Christmas party!
Booking my second gig for March 2015- an ovarian cancer awareness fundraiser!
Opening my Etsy shop.
Getting listed on The Knot as a 'Featured' business.
Follow up. Follow up. Follow up.
Crossing off my goals as they're met. That is the most gratifying thing to do: crossing off something you set out to do and DID.

Pre-babies and pre-carnival life I worked for years in hotels starting at the front desk, moving to Front Office Manager and eventually onto my passion: sales and marketing and event planning. I loved, loved, loved helping clients organize their business meetings, weddings, family reunions, etc. I'm overly picky and organized and diligently made sure every detail was looked over twice, three times. Ensuring folks had a successful event was very rewarding and thrilling for me.

LFP let's me go back to my passion: parties and planning! If you're not new to the blog you already know all about my party planning obsession. I've already started planning Olivia's second birthday with the perfect theme. {She's not two until July..... It's never too early!}
The other day Rich said, "Our kids' birthdays will be 6 months apart so you'll always have a party to work on, was that your plan??"
*Shrugs*

Of course I only serve the Twin Cities area with my business, so that's where ETSY comes in!
Send me a video 7-12 seconds long in .avi or .wmv format (the closer to 7 seconds the better) and I turn your video into your own personal flip book!

PS: NO WE DO NOT KNOW WHAT THE BABY'S GENDER IS. THE PINK MARKERS AND GLITTER WERE THE FIRST ONES I SAW WHILE AT MICHAELS SO 'ITS A GIRL' IT WAS. I DO NOT KNOW WHAT I'M HAVING!!

Great for:

Pregnancy Announcements
Gender Reveal
Engagement Announcements
Invitations
Christmas Cards
and More!

Anyone with lots of experience in Etsy (because I'm not one of those people) please feel free to email me tips. There's so much to it and it's still very brand new to me and I had no idea there was so much to storefronts!

You're thinking, looks great but I don't need any of those. Do me a favor? PIN IT! PIN AWAY AND SPREAD THE WORD! Preferably pin from my Etsy shop but here works too. Thank you so much in advance.
