The Good, The Bad, The Ugly

The Good

+ Liam is growing like crazy. He's now getting that 'fat baby' look complete with chunky thighs. We've moved into size 1 diapers and packed away all Newborn clothing at only 3.5 weeks. Tear.

+ Olivia starts dance class in just a month! The Tiny Tots session is for little ballerinas aged 18 - 24 months. I guarantee I'll have an emotional meltdown on her first day being so proud.

+ Olivia's vocabulary is expanding like whoa lately. The other day she grabbed the bread and got herself a slice out. I asked her what she was eating (not expecting an answer) and she happily said "bed!"
I told Rich she no longer fits in 18 month clothing and her whole outfit was 2T! She danced around the house saying "2T! 2T! 2T!"

The Bad

+ Olivia figured out how to open the dishwasher and does so frequently. She opens it while it's in the middle of the wash - not awesome. More than one time we've had to help her because she got "suck!" Knives can no longer go in the dishwasher since little hands are frequently rearranging in there.

+ High pitched screaming/shrieking. Why? Not unhappy. Not excited. Just loud. So loud. So piercing. So headache-y.

+ The weather is nasty. We're all going a little nuts anxious to get out of the house for more than just quickly running from van to house or van to store. The "real feel" today is -39. Gross.
We usually spend some of January/February in Tampa but didn't this year because of our new arrival. Really wishing we were in the sunshine state right about now so here's a flashback of a visit to the beach. Sigh....

The Ugly

+ I've been blog/internet absent because on Monday evening I got a little fingernail to the eyeball. The actual eyeball. The doc called it 'corneal abrasian' which is a fancy word for 'your baby messed that up good'. I couldn't open it, couldn't see, watering like crazy. I looked like I got punched in the face. I sent a picture of myself to my best friend who told me I looked like I got in a bar fight. I went to urgent care on Tuesday because it wasn't healing. $200 drops later and I'm finally able to start to open my eye. I thought about including a picture of me but it's truly ugly. Thanks Liam.

  1. I'm so glad that Liam is growing so well! Our Olivia just figured out how to open the dishwasher. She gets her spoons out and then the peanut butter (or cookie butter - whatever she gets her hands on) and brings it to us saying "more more." I think we need to start the no knife rule as well. I'm sorry about your eye! Hope it heals well and quickly!
