Five on Friday

Olivia and I had a Mommy-Daughter date night to the Orpheum Theater for a Broadway showing of Beauty and the Beast. Rich and I love the theater and living near Minneapolis means we take advantage of our vast theatre district whenever possible. I knew she'd love the songs, dancing, live acts and being able to buy a new dress and get dressed up in Mommy's jewelry for the big night. We went to dinner together and ran around the skyways before heading in to our (3rd row!) seats.
We badly needed this night with just the two of us because Liam has required so much of my time and constant nursing. It was nice to have a girls night and leave Daddy and the Boy at home alone.
My highlight of the night was when we walked to the show and there was a man playing drums out of buckets on the street with his hat ready for tips. Olivia heard the beats and went dashing over to him and danced her little feet off to his jams. She was happy to throw a buck in his hat for the good time.
During the show she was mostly well behaved. Randomly she'd pop out of her trance, look at me and say "Mama! Nose!" and point to my nose.
"Yes, mama has a nose. Now where's Belle?" I'd quietly whisper to her to get her interested into the show again quietly.
----20 minutes later----
"Mama! Ears!" pointing to my ears.
"Yes, mama has ears. Do you see the teapot!?" Whispering
Repeat over and over all the parts of my face she can label.
Her +1 for the evening: Minnie Mouse

The weather has finally! finally! been nice around here. This winter has been so brutal in the cities keeping us cooped up for far too long. We took our first and second of many trips to the park with the entire family, dog included to get some Vitamin D, slide our little hearts out and roll around in the grass: I'll leave it to you to figure out who did what.

I just signed up for my first craft show in April and am simultaneously excited and nervous. More excited than nervous. I have been sewing anytime I get the chance to set both kids down (almost never) to list new items in my shop and to stock up for the show.

I saw this shirt at Target the other day and literally stopped in my tracks and gasped before tossing it in our cart. How cute is it and it's under $5!

A new cupcake store opened up near us called Nadia Cakes. Nadia was the winner on the Food Network's Cupcake Wars. She has 3 stores and 2 of them are near us. Dane-jah! We had to try her cupcake that won her the $10,000 and after one bite I looked something similar to this.
