The 3 Month Hiatus

Well hey! It's been a long time but things are slowing down finally around here and I dusted off this little 'ol blog. We've been up to a lot these past 3 months; a wedding, a trip to Orlando, and a new job!

In May our friends got married and the entire family was in the wedding. I was matron of honor, Rich was a groomsman and the kids were the flower girl and ring bearer.

One made it down the aisle, the other sat in the back with his iPad when he got stage fright.

The day after the wedding we took our out of town friends to a Twins game in a suite.

The Twins played the Red Sox and anytime anyone cheered, Olivia jumped right on their bandwagon to cheer for whichever team was currently winning.

A few days ago we took a very spontaneous trip to Orlando to check out the new waterpark, Volcano Bay.  Honest opinion? Fun for older kids and adults. There isn't tons to do for a 2 and 3 year old. They did like the kiddie area, the lazy river, and the wave pool. They were too scared for most of the slides in the kiddie area. Adults aren't allowed on the kiddie slides so they refused to go down solo. Other than that, it was tons of fun and we will 100% go back, when the kids are a little older.

We went to Universal Studios theme park on another day to ride rides, check out the Harry Potter world, and just walk around meeting characters.

We stayed at the Cabana Bay Beach Resort which is directly next to Volcano Bay. This is a newer hotel which is 50's and 60's themed. There was even Zest soap and VO5 as amenities. Even though this was one of the newer hotels in the area, it was very affordably priced. We got a courtyard, poolside family suite because we traveled with my mother in law.

I loved this hotel. The kids loved the bright colors and the pool did a great job wearing them out every night.

We dined at amazing restaurants which I plan on doing a whole post about. Stay tuned.

Finally, I'm so excited because my hard work has paid off and I just accepted a position working in the emergency room at 3 hospitals. I'll be "stationed" at the hospital nearest to me but will work for the others as needed. I'm SO EXCITED and I honestly cannot wait to start!

  1. I haven't been to Universal in years! Way before Wizarding World was built. We are doing Disney in November, but no time to stop for Harry Potter land. :(
