Let's start with the "voice" / "writer" behind the blog. Let's be real. I'm not a writer, just another Mom who thought she should start a blog. Real original like.

Hi, I'm Teri. 32 years old, mini van driving, mom to Olivia (3.5) and Liam (2). They're 18 months apart and the reason my hair is falling out.

I'm a unique mom because I really enjoy Target, Starbucks, and staged Instagram pictures with just the perfect lighting. Totally unique, huh?

I'm blunt, sarcastic, and terrifyingly shy all at the same time. My sarcasm can be seen on the back of my van behind me. This baby on board decal is proudly displayed.  ** Did I just throw an affiliated link in my About Me? Sure did. They're scattered in this blog. Meaning, if you buy what I shill I make like, 8 cents **

I used to work in sales and marketing for hotels event planning but after I had my daughter I left it to become a full time carnie with my husband. More on that below.

Let's do some random tidbits:
I love rap and country music. Yes, I blast rap music loudly with the windows down on my minivan and don't mind the stares one bit.
Black is my favorite color and the vast color of choice in my OCD induced closet.
I got second place in a Budweiser rock paper scissors concert once.
My go-to karaoke song is Alanis Morissette's "You Oughta Know". I "performed" it once in Orlando with backup singers, live guitar and drummer and had a standing ovation.  There's a video of that somewhere and I swear to God if it makes it to the Internet I may die.

Some more random stupids in this post if you so care to know more about moi.

I'm also a medical assisting student in my other other free time. You can find me either with a corn dog, a stethoscope, or sewing a headband, making a mean PB&J, or burning yet another dinner.

Rich is the man-parent

He's the calm and reasonable one in the family. So unlike me. We met when we were 18 and were married December 2012.

Olivia is the oldest child

 Born July 2013

She's our spunky hilarious little girly girl who loves performing (singing and dancing) at the drop of a hat. Tutus, pigtails, necklaces, and nail polish are her current obsessions. She is a little lady who knows what she wants and keeps us and even America laughing....

Was on Good Morning America and CNN early this year

Watch for the tag 'That's What She Said' for glimpses into what our house is like with her budding attitude.

Liam is our youngest

Born January 2015

He's the happiest little boy and our rascal. He gets into any and every single thing he can and he won't stop until he's pulled all of Olivia's hair out, fallen down every flight of stairs, and broken every last electronic in the house.

He loves food, Cars, trucks, and food. Updated photos of him aren't currently available because they're all blurry because he can't sit still. He's also always in need of a clean shirt within 15 minutes of putting one on.

We are carnies and yes, we have all our teeth. My "office view" is of a midway. My uniform consists of sneakers and a baseball hat. My co-workers are my family. My hours are long but my reward is great- everyday is 'take your child to work day'! A post on this here.

My job is literally the best. I've seen the following concerts for free and were paid to be there:
Eric Church, Sam Hunt, Blake Shelton, Snoop Dogg, Miranda Lambert, AWOLnation, Slip Knot, Florida Georgia Line, Jason Aldean, and so so so many more that I can't remember.

We travel the country for a few months out of the year and live in this bad boy while on the road.

In my spare time I'm working on 1-2 parties at a time. Party planning is my hobby, it's my passion. I love hosting family and friends especially when a keg, cake, and theme are involved. You can read more about my party planning here.
In 2014 I started my own photo booth business and work from home in my other free time trying to get it off the ground and running.
Visit my shop for my Etsy shop where I hand make head wraps for mamas and minis. While I was pregnant with Liam I taught myself how to sew and became obsessed with making head wraps, blankets, leggings, crib sheets, you name it.

Shh! Mommy's Drinking started when I was pregnant with Olivia as a place to document my pregnancy and her growth and it's turned into my full time hobby. I love sharing our family's stories all in one place and hope to print everything off one day to bind together for memories for the kids. I often think of changing the name as it kind of doesn't "fit" the blog but it's where it all started so it's where it'll stay!

I occasionally write about Tone It Up and share my favorite recipes that are husband and kid friendly. My Tone It Up Review found here. I joined TIU October of 2013 after I had a Pulmonary Embolism. After seeing numerous specialists and countless blood testing that is still regularly happening, I have yet to get an answer as to why it happened to me. I was 27 when it happened and healthy as a horse up until that point. Since then I've been diagnosed with a heart murmur, hypothyroidism, and anxiety. SO many pills. So annoying.

Majority of my days at home look a little like this

  1. Aww! My name is Olivia but I have always gone by Livi. My family has always called me Livi Lou but I love that your daughters middle name is actually Louise :) Surprisingly, I get so many compliments from people who say they have never heard of my name or, "it's so unique!" I just giggle & take the compliment. They really don't know that it technically is a very popular name. Anyway, love your blog! Super cute.

    1. It really is a great name :) Louise was Rich's nana's name. Thanks for reading!

  2. Just came across your blog through little baby garvin and have been reading it for the last hour. I'm a mother of one and love to read mom blogs. I'm glad you are doing fine after your PE. Also, I became a TIU girl last September at the beginning of frisky fall. I bought the plan, lost all the baby weight and keeping up with the lifestyle. Congrats soon to be a mommy of 2.

    1. Thank you so much! I can't wait to get back at TIU HARD after this baby makes his or her arrival.

  3. Hi Teri! I found your blog about a month ago and just wanted you to know I thoroughly enjoy it. I have a son who is just about Liam's age (born Feb 17). I also have QUITE the cursing problem so if you make good on your New Year's resolution please share some tips on how you curbed the motherfucking cursing around your kids. :)
